Lloyd’s Drug Mart is opposed to closing the USPS Distribution Center in Norfolk, NE. We feel this is bad for the community and also bad
for the quality of care that our customers deserve. Lloyd’s Drug Mart serves many communities and patients that depend on their prescriptions to be delivered next day by the USPS. But most importantly, I think this sends the wrong message, when our country is trying to create jobs across the country. By closing the USPS Distribution Center in Norfolk, Nebraska this will take away jobs from Northeast Nebraska will have a negative impact on the customers that depend on their mail delivered the next day.

Norfolk, NE  (February 21, 2011) – Lloyd’s Drug Mart is the first independent pharmacy in Norfolk to install the leading technology for automating dispensing with high speed and accuracy, freeing the pharmacy team to focus on high-quality patient care and service.

Parata Max fully automates the dispensing of oral solids (e.g., pills, tablets, capsules), which are typically about 60 percent of a pharmacy’s prescriptions. Max selects and labels a vial, counts the right number of the right medication and strength, caps the vial and sorts the finished prescription by patient name, all in just seconds. It takes several minutes to complete the same steps by hand.
